jSMPP project update, 2.1.1 and 2.2.1 releases

The jSMPP project on Github stopped processing pull requests over a year ago and appeared to be needing some help.

I've recently started hosting it under https://github.com/opentelecoms-org/jsmpp and tried to merge some of the backlog of pull requests myself.

Storage controllers for small Linux NFS networks

While contemplating the disk capacity upgrade for my Microserver at home, I've also been thinking about adding a proper storage controller.

Currently I just use the built-in controller in the Microserver. It is an AMD SB820M SATA controller. It is a bottleneck for the SSD IOPS.

A persistent problem that I encounter with hard disks is the capacity limit. If only hard disks could expand like the Tardis.

Silent data loss exposed

I was moving a large number of image files around and decided to compare checksums after putting them in their new home.

Ouf of several thousand files, about 80GB of data, I found that seventeen of them had a checksum mismatch.

Running md5sum manually on each of those was showing a correct checksum, well, up until the sixth file and then I found this:

In January 2014, we launched the rtc.debian.org service for the Debian community. An equivalent service has been in testing for the Fedora community at FedRTC.org.

In 2013, Debian wheezy was released with a number of great virtualization options include the Xen Cloud Platform (XCP / Xen-API) toolstack packaged by Thomas Goirand to run in a native Debian host environment.

rtc.debian.org updated for latest browsers

I've just updated rtc.debian.org with the latest versions of JSCommunicator and JsSIP.

The version of JsSIP that had been on the site was actually quite old, from February 2014 and the browsers have evolved a lot since then.

If you've tried it before and it didn't work consistently please try again and feel free to share any feedback you have.

PostBooks 4.7 packages available, xTupleCon 2014 award

I recently updated the PostBooks packages in Debian and Ubuntu to version 4.7. This is the version that was released in Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic Unicorn) and is part of the upcoming Debian 8 (jessie) release.
