Losing Debian: Sruthi Chandran election flop

The fact that only one candidate is running in the Debianism elections gives a stark reminder about the state of the so-called community. The main reason why other people did not contest the election is because of fear. Fear of a circle of reprisals that began when Adrian von Bidder-Senn died on our wedding day.

When CentOS died, people tried to carry on in various ways. That tells us a lot about human psychology. People knew the game was over but they tried to continue as if it was business as usual, as if the situation could be salvaged, as if it was only a temporary crisis.

Due to years of censorship, including the payment of $120,000 to steal Debian-related domain names, the Debianists have been living in a bubble and deluding themselves. When Sruthi Chandran nominated on Friday 13th, people acted as if this was a good thing.

Now Sruthi has stopped answering questions on the Debian-vote mailing list and it seems reality has started to sink in. People are coming to realize that the position of Debian Project Leader is the interface between Debianism and the outside world. People can fool themselves and use the Code of Conduct gaslighting to blackmail other volunteers to pretend that Sruthi is a great leader. People are coming to realise that these tricks won't work on the wider community. Given that Sruthi would be Debian's interface to the outside world, we can't just ignore how the world views the candidate who is the wife of another developer.

She has ignored the most serious questions on Debian-vote mailing list. A woman trying to run Debian from a social control media account is the death of Debian. Here is a tally of the number of replies she provided each day for those who use email, the mainstay of Debian communication:

That is a total of only 15 replies. She has been largely silent for a whole week since 24 March.

Technically, questions and their answers are supposed to be completed before midnight on Friday, 3 April. The most critical questions have not been answered. In her platform, Sruthi Chandran boasts about being the "Chief orga DebConf India 2023" but there has never been an official report about the death of Abraham Raji at the conference.

Voting runs from 4 April to 17 April, which is the 15th anniversary of the day Adrian von Bidder-Senn died on our wedding day. It was discussed like a copy-cat suicide but there was no official report about those deaths either.

Remember the words from Abraham Raji himself:

Everything in Debian is transparent, all forms of official communication are a matter of public record, the amount of unresolved bugs, every step taken by debian as an organization, everything is in the open! I appreciate that from my distribution. There is no room for underhand corporate deals, no unfair treatment behind private mails and everything can be reviewed by the public.

Does Sruthi Chandran spend more time in debian-private (leaked) and WhatsApp groups than the public communication channels that Debian is supposed to be using?

Sruthi Chandran's platform tells us she wants to put diversity ahead of traditional goals like freedom and security. She has been very vague about this. As a consequence, more evidence is going to be published during the voting period to prove that Debian "diversity" means some men who did the real work are not being given credit while some large sums of money were assigned to the wives and girlfriends of cabal members.

I've never stated whether people should vote for Sruthi Chandran or not. Looking at the tone of the discussion, I feel people are coming to realise the way the outside world views candidates like this is not the same way that people view it from inside the bubble.

Consider the irony: they spent all that money in arguments about leaks that are "tarnishing" the trademark. The implication of these arguments about tarnishing is that the way the outside world views Debianism does matter. Can anybody see the risk that Sruthi Chandran and a lop-sided diversity crusade could do far more to tarnish the trademark than any leaks that have appeared up to this moment?

Debian may not die exactly the same way that CentOS died. At some point, as with CentOS, we will go past the point of no return. Maybe we already did. Will people have the courage to ask questions before that threshold is crossed or will they continue acting as if nothing is wrong even long after the life support system has been unplugged from the corpse?

Remember, Debianists gave over $120,000 in kill money to racist Swiss lawyerists to attack my family but they didn't pay Abraham Raji anything for the work he did helping organise DebConf23. When Raji joined the other developers on the day trip, they asked him to contribute some of his own money, he was left behind to swim alone and he drowned. Yet the lawyerists were given $120,000.

The best way to encourage people to nominate for the election will be for the existing leader, Andreas Tille, to withdraw all the privacy attacks, settle the lawsuits proactively and ensure the next leader can walk in and find the desk is clean ready to work on productive things.

French judgment: parasitisme by FSFE & Matthias Kirschner (CO23.002709)

In previous reports, we've described the tactics of the FSFE misfits using terms like identity fraud and Nigerian fraud.

In the French justice system, they have their own name for this type of scam: parasitisme.

Parasitisme is the French legal concept of one person or organisation trying to usurp the reputation of another person or organisation to obtain money or procure the work of volunteers.

As an Australian, the Fellowship elected me on ANZAC Day in 2017 to investigate the FSFE misfits in Berlin. Australians don't know a lot of French but we know parasites.

Is the judgment real or is it just another April fools day joke? The facts and the leaks are certainly real. The French courts really use the word Parasitisme to describe this type of scam. However, some fake judgments are being distributed with the number CO23.002709 and the names of Caroline Kuhnlein-Hofmann and Mélanie Bron. You can recognise the fake judgments because they have the date of the Kristallnacht, 10 November, on the first page.

Red Hat: Latin-1 character set under threat from Bishop Michael Martin, North Carolina

If religion is a form of social engineering attack, having your own language is the ultimate mind-control trick.

Latin is the language of God - or control.

The Latin-1 character set (ISO 8859-1) is natively supported in the Linux console driver, including Red Hat Linux systems.

On 12 December 1924, Pope Pius XI created the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1971, Pope Paul VI forked the diocese to create a separate Diocese of Charlotte.

Red Hat was founded in Durham. They subsequently relocated to Raleigh and in 2009 they began preaching about the need for Codes of Conduct demagoguery.

In the rival Diocese of Charlotte, Bishop Michael Martin was appointed on 9 April 2024.

In May 2025, a draft Code of Conduct was leaked from Bishop Martin in Charlotte, North Carolina. The document includes harsh new restrictions on the use of practices from the Traditional Latin Mass.

The controversy is not new. Since his arrival in the diocese in 2024, following the resignation for health reasons of Bishop Peter Jugis, Michael Martin has been the target of strong criticism from the faithful attached to the traditional liturgy.

The most significant episode occurred in May 2025, when he reduced from four to one the authorized locations for the celebration of the traditional Latin Mass, leaving only one chapel for these celebrations. The measure was presented expressly as part of the application of Traditionis Custodes.

This was followed by leaked diocesan documents that pointed to new restrictions, including possible limits on the use of Latin in the liturgy, certain traditional vestments, and some habitual postures of the faithful at the moment of Communion.

Prohibition of kneelers and Communion rails

The tension increased even further in September 2025, when Martin prohibited the use of an altar rail in a Catholic school in Charlotte.

The fact the 2025 document is a draft should not be understated. It is not unusual for managers to ask their subordinates to write drafts like this full of ideas from brainstorming sessions. The bishop may have asked different subordinates or theology students to write competing drafts with the intention of cherry-picking ideas from each of them rather than using the draft verbatim. Therefore, as one of possibly many drafts, it has no meaning until Bishop Martin decides to make a public statement.

Nonetheless, the leaking of a draft is a great way to get people talking about the Catholic Church. Many companies deliberately leak their own documents to gain attention on social control media.

Here are some of the key points and benefits of the Latin language:

Universal - people can attend a Latin mass in any country and it will sound the same, whether they understand it or not
The language and the Catholic affinity for Latin have survived much longer than the Roman empire
The meaning of any original Latin text is usually more specific and less ambiguous than any translations to English or other modern languages.
The Latin calendar of saints, readings and seasons provides structure throughout the calendar year
Latin language is also used in medicine, law, our alphabet and many words in European languages

However, Latin has been challenged over the years. English bibles have been around for centuries.

Can you put candles on the altar? The candles are part of the Traditional Latin Mass but there have been arguments about whether they are permitted or even banned in the post-Latin world. My first ever voluntary role was being an altar boy at our local church. Lighting the candles before mass and extinguishing them at the end of the mass were among our responsibilities. Was I breaking the Code of Conduct by lighting these candles for an English-language mass?

In fact, due to the extreme temperatures in Australia, we have many days of the year when all types of fire are banned. If the altar boys still light the candles on one of the total fire ban days, are they simultaneously violating two Codes of Conduct?

Latin was both the language of the empire and the language of the official state religion. Today, English is the language of business, but more people speak Chinese or Spanish. There are many more religions and sects. When children are born into a family that practices the Traditional Latin Mass, they have the opportunity to learn Latin from childhood. When modern day religions and cults recruit adult members who never practiced a religion before, they don't have the same opportunitity to indoctrinate those people into a language.

The use of the Latin language has disadvantages.

Many people don't understand Latin, either spoken or written.
Latin can be and has been used to fool people. In historic times, the jurists and priests were the only people who could read the Latin texts. They would find some paragraph in the bible to justify their own opinions or decisions and they would pretend to translate and explain it to the lay people.
The church parted with it in 1962, new generations abandoned it. For example, very few schools still teach Latin.
Compared to other languages, there are very few opportunities to practice speaking and reading in Latin.
The Catholic church is now competing with many other Christian religions. The use of the Latin language began at a time when other forms of Christianity did not exist. Moreover, the church is competing in countries without a state religion. Only in Italy and Rome are people ninety-nine percent Catholic.

The Vatican has not completely banned use of the Traditional Latin Mass. They have not completely banned candles and some other traditions that are associated with the Traditional Latin Mass. Nonetheless, there is a Code of Conduct that every modern day diocese is expected to follow and that means the majority of masses should be offered in the local language(s) understood by the congregation.

Richard Stallman lynchings: Sruthi Chandran splitting Debian

In 2021, Molly de Blanc called for a public lynching of her old boss Dr Richard Stallman (RMS).

Debianists decided to have a vote (General Resolution / GR) on whether the Debian name could be used in the lynching.

The way each developer voted is publicly visible.

We can look back at the way Sruthi Chandran voted and we can see she is one of the villains who wanted the toxic culture of publicly denouncing people.

Sruthi Chandran has failed to identify her conflicts of interest, notably her husband, in her campaign to be Debian Project Leader We can look at how Pirate Praveen voted and we can see he also wanted to have the toxic culture of publicly humiliating people.

When Sruthi Chandran became a Debian Developer, she received advocacies from three people. One of those was her husband, Pirate Praveen, who failed to declare the conflict of interest. The other two are Abhijith PA and Balasankar Chelamattathu. Of the three advocates, two of them voted for publicly humiliating Dr Richard Stallman.

Notice how Sruthi Chandran repeated the number 8 three times. This is not a valid vote and it suggests Sruthi Chandran doesn't fully understand the voting system.

If Sruthi Chandran were to be elected leader, would she recruit more people to work on real development or would she recruit more people like her, people who want to humiliate developers?

Remember the way GNOME employees used a generic username to hide their identities when they denounced Sonny Piers.

The vote on lynching Dr Richard Stallman (RMS) already divided Debianism once. GNOME never gave their developers an opportunity to discuss or vote before making a public humiliation of Sonny Piers.

Debianism election 2026 community poll created, everybody can vote

Voting is a powerful tool. This is one way to achieve regime change without starting World War 3.

The nomination period closed at midnight on Friday, 13th. The official Debian voting period ends at midnight on 17 April, the anniversary of a notorious death that was discussed as a copy-cat suicide.

Only one candidate nominated. At the midnight hour in her timezone on Friday the 13th,Sruthi Chandran submitted a nomination. She did not declare conflicts of interest, her husband is also a Debian Developer.

In her platform, Sruthi Chandran wants to replace the priorities of freedom with the rush for diversity, without explaining what she will really do. Based on past practice, we suspect they will expel more white men.

This CIVS poll has been created where you can vote for Sruthi Chandran, you can vote for Héctor Orón Martínez who submitted his nomination after the deadline or you can vote for Dr Norbert Preining, the only man who has been expelled twice from Debianism.

A/Prof Susan G Kleinmann, Enkelena Haxhija & Debian-private risk to MIT

When the women from Kosovo invited me to their Hackathon for Girls in Prizren, one of the more unusual things that happened was people telling me things about Enkelena Haxhija.

All the girls were really enthusiastic about the weekend. On the other hand, they were keen to let me know that their friend Enkelena was not like the other girls.

A few weeks later, I was at the pub in Prishtina with a much smaller group. Enkelena was there and while we were talking and having drinks, Enkelena was doing her homework. It looked like she was solving partial differential equations. We did the same homework in our engineering maths course at the University of Melbourne.

After the gossip and rudeness to my family, many of the women from these events decided they didn't want any further involvement with Debianism.

At OSCAL in 2018, Enkelena did not ask for permission before setting up my radio equipment. She just went ahead and did it. People waste so much time arguing about the definition of diversity.

We gave a talk together in the same conference:

One member of the audience was Arjen Kamphuis. He asked us a question. It was Enkelena's first talk and it was the last time we saw Arjen Kamphuis before he disappeared.

In 2025, Enkelena submitted a request to be on the list of Debian Developers (authors of Debian).

Enkelena: I would also like to be able to participate in debian-private and use the Debian infrastructure more easily e.g. for sending and receiving emails.

As it turns out, large sections of debian-private from the 1990s have been leaked on IPFS and much more of it is being offered in the crowdfunding campaign.

Personally, I started doing voluntary activities in amateur radio when I was fourteen years old in 1993. I went on to doing voluntary things with Debian and Linux shortly after that but I wasn't in any rush to be part of debian-private. I don't think I ever mentioned debian-private to anybody until after the Debian leader Chris Lamb started attacking my family in 2018.

The first woman in Debian was Associate Professor Susan G Kleinmann from MIT. She also had to ask for permission to use debian-private:

Here is the crisis for MIT. They really need smart women like Enkelena to replace A/Prof Susan G Kleinmann, who is around retirement age.

But if Enkelena wastes her youth on debian-private and all the other dirty politics, she may never get to MIT.

Looking back to the notorious conference dinner at DebConf19 in Brazil, there are four Albanian women seated at the table with the former leader of Debianism. From left to right, they are Anisa Kuci, Kristi Progri, Elena Gjevukaj and Diellza Shabani. At the next table below that, we can see Enkelena.

Elena Gjevukaj told us about the relentless emotional blackmail from certain people who pressured her to betray my family. See the video.

People need to ask Enkelena if she was subject to the same pressure from people who wanted to hurt my family and I.

I'd like to add a 3rd option (after the elections). Propose a GR for a change in the voting process, that if any candidates nominate themselves in the last 12 hours of the nomination process, then the nomination window extends by another 48h to allow someone who specifically wants to challenge that person to do so. It's perhaps not perfect, but it would catch a lot of cases that people are concerned about (perhaps the exact definition and timeframes could do with some tweaking, but that's the general idea).

When Ian Murdock wrote the original Manifesto of Debianism, there was no other candidate. The manifesto was about an idea and people who agreed with the idea could join him if they wanted to.

Today, there is no space for ideas. Anybody with a reputation for thinking out loud is attacked by an angry mob.

In Australian football, we have the expression playing the man and not the ball. This is an expression that captures Jonathan Carter's mentality perfectly.

If you have a grudge against somebody, Jonathan Carter wants you to indulge yourself. Don't dare let anybody listen to what they have to say. Spread rumours about their family. Obstruct them. Sabotage them. Suffocate them. Strangle them.

The 48 hour extension of the nomination period, as suggested by Jonathan Carter, is basically an opportunity for suicide bombers to come in and throw themselves at any candidates who might be interesting.

This is about more than just the elections. This is how the whole community has failed. Ever since the Code of Conduct gaslighting was introduced, people have been obsessed with their egos and looking down their noses at each other, nitpicking how people speak.

In any vote in the world of Debianism, voters have the option to reject all candidates and vote None of the Above (NotA).

In an earlier report, I speculated there is silent pressure on Sruthi Chandran to temporarily withdraw her nomination so the shadow candidate Héctor Orón Martínez can submit a nomination and compete against Sruthi.

Now Thomas Goirand (zigo) has dared to say the same thing out loud on the mailing list:

I also would prefer if there was more than one candidate, but perhaps changing the rules during the election isn't what we want.

There's in fact 2 ways this could happen.

1/ Sruthi (temporarily) withdraw her nomination, just in order to restart the nomination period. Is this really possible?

2/ Sruthi refuses to do 1/, and A majority vote NotA.

On debian-vote, the thread about Sruthi Chandran, who is somebody's wife, being less than a full candidate is bigger than all the other threads combined:

The origin of this problem is the decision to allow wives and girlfriends to call themselves Debian Developers or "Project Members", which is an even more dodgy term, in the first place.

As explained elsewhere, Debian is a work of joint authorship under copyright law.

The copyright law is a set of rules over and above the Debian constitution. In many ways, the Debian constitution is an act of bad faith because it attempts to distract people from our real status and rights as joint authors.

Some people do a lot of administrative work, for example, nitpicking how we write on mailing lists or managing conference attendance. Those tasks take time but they are not acts of authorship. In the world of book publishing, you simply pay the printing company to print your book. You don't ask the printers to work for free in exchange for putting their name in the book as a co-author.

Everybody knows that if one of these groupies is elected, they will always have to defer to their husband or boyfriend for help with technical subjects. Sruthi Chandran's husband will be helping her run Debian through pillow talk. Everybody knows that is not real diversity. Telling the community that Sruthi Chandran is the leader or telling the community that Debian is being run by a woman would be a lie, an act of bad faith.

Therefore, as it stands, this is not a choice between Sruthi Chandran vs None of the Above (NotA).

People are voting on the choice between Deceive the world about diversity vs None of the Above (NotA).

Throughout the election, I plan to publish more reports revealing the awkward truth about how Debian pretends to care about diversity.

If we do care about diversity, one thing we could do is take away all the titles we gave to people's wives and simply pay those women for the time they spend doing administrative chores.

Joerg Jaspert (Debian Account Manager/DAM) personally approved Raphael Hertzog’s wife Sophie Brun

When somebody asks to have their name added to the list of Debian Developers, after receiving one or more advocacies, their dossier is given to another developer to conduct an assessment. In the procedure, this other developer is called the Application Manager (AM).

In the case of Sophie Brun / Sophie Hertzog, the Application Manager (AM) was Joerg Jaspert (ganneff). Jaspert also happens to be one of the Debian Account Managers team, that is, the small group who are relied upon to ensure security standards are upheld when new accounts are added.

Joerg Jaspert has written an AM report and he doesn't express any concerns about the fact the advocacy came from Sophie Brun's husband Raphael Hertzog.

Was Jaspert, one of the Debian Account Managers team, fooled by the conduct of Raphael Hertzog? Or did he turn a blind eye?

Jaspert's wife Pei-Hua Tseng was one of the first Debian women to get pregnant at the onset of the Debian pregnancy cluster.

Couples pose risks for democracy and diversity

When you have a bunch of couples like this in an organisation, they make decisions as a group and then they gang up on individual volunteers and bully or manipulate them into concurring with them.

Double standards are rampant and this is killing Debian

Remember the Debian Christmas Lynchings from 2018? The Debian Account Managers, including Jaspert, removed Dr Norbert Preining from the Debian keyring because he had used the wrong pronoun when referring to Sage Sharp. There was no due process, there was no trial, despite the fact Dr Norbert Preining had over 15 years of voluntary service, they removed him secretly in the middle of the Christmas season.

Raphael Hertzog's conduct, failing to declare the conflict of interest when he submitted an advocacy for his wife, is a far more serious transgression than Dr Norbert Preining's faux pas with a pronoun.

There were no consequences for Raphael Hertzog. It looks like Jaspert is complicit although it is not certain that he knew about the relationship.

Within the Debian Account Managers team, there is speculation that Enrico Zini had a secret relationship with Martin(a) Ferrari from the Community Team.

Therefore, don't hold your breath waiting for these incestuous people to recognise conflict of interest concealment in other contexts.

Letter ‘A’ prohibited by Code of Conduct extremism

While some of us use our computers for work, there is a growing army of extremists who are nitpicking the content of web pages and then running a pestering campaign to have certain pages censored in various ways.

Here we can see they took issue with the letter 'a' in Ian. Can one letter of the alphabet really violate the Code of Conduct gaslighting?

They have submitted a DMCA (Copyright) complaint to Google LLC. It is published by Lumen. It claims to be on behalf of somebody called lou michelle but that may be a sock puppet.

The complaint includes a list of URLs spanning 43 different domain names. In the domain uncensored.deb.ian.community they asked to redact the letter 'a' in Ian for users in Germany. Please see nazi.compare before they ban that too.
